On Monday evening, we lost a very beloved member of the DMB Family. Ian Kuhn has been the band’s monitor engineer and dear friend since his first gig with the band at the Glastonbury festival in 1996. His last show with us was less than 3 months ago on Nov. 24th at MSG. Rest easy, Ian.
Dear Ian,
How to show enough appreciation. You would help me with this task. That is because you were always there for me. You were always there for your incredible family. I think most people who knew you would say you were always there for them. At least if it was within your power.
You were a celebrator of life. We laughed hard so many times. To the end and through profound pain and discomfort you showed humor and kindness to everyone. You acknowledged difficult days and worked through them with pleasant determination. Most days were great enough to be thankful for. You were deeply kind and empathetic. You were my dear, dear friend. I love how you loved your family and the world. It is hard to lose someone so quietly magnificent. It’s like losing a part of everything beautiful. It feels unfair that I won’t see you smile again but I am so grateful to have known you.
